CHAMPAGNE

Domaine Damien Hugot

Damien Hugot: What a character ! It was on the advice of my dear cousin Didier M. that I took the liberty of knocking on the door of this Huguenot winemaker. My cousin had warned me. I was not disappointed by the welcome, the man or the bottles we tasted as we talked. Damien took the time to show me around the winery, where casks, tuns, jars and barrels take pride of place. The champagnes from this producer of Grands Crus des Côtes de Blancs reflect the incredible generosity that drives him. He's a tireless epicurean in the service of quality. I was quickly adopted by Damien and I thank him infinitely for allowing me to represent him.

Hommage 1921 is a tribute to Damien Hugot's grandfather. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes from Monthelon and Chavot. The sparkling wine is bottled using the méthode champenoise, and aged on its own yeast for at least 15 months. Straw-yellow in color, with fine, persistent perlage, it opens on the nose with aromas of flowers, apple, red berries and bread crust. The sip is fresh and quite tasty, with good persistence.

Cuvée Rosée is a blend of 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir vinified in red. The cuvée undergoes no malolactic fermentation and matures on yeast for over 2 years. This champagne has a fresh, delicate taste, with a harmonious blend of fruity and floral notes, a pleasant effervescence and an elegant, persistent finish...

The Grands Crus

Brut blanc de blanc: Pure Chardonnay from Choully and Cramant. Sparkling is carried out in the bottle using the méthode champenoise, and the wine is aged on its own yeast for at least 15 months. Matured on a base of Cuvée 2021, this champagne with its fine bubbles and notes of orange peel is fresh and taut.

Extra brut, blanc de blanc is the expression of a terroir renowned for its ability to produce grapes of exceptional quality. Unlike the brut, we're on a 2020 base, so the aromas are a little more intense, more mature, with good tension and fine bubbles.
